Can You Hear Me?
Can You Hear Me is a short film that includes immersive sound which showcases the issues of speaker detection algorithm in an audio-visual manner.

The viewer is taken to a journey inside the algorithm as four participants on a Zoom call struggle to communicate with each other. Ultimately, this piece denounces the everyday struggle that students have experienced whilst using the platform as the pandemic forced them to continue studies online, whilst combining this with the issues of speaker detection algorithm.

The circles on screen, depicting small speakers, are distorted and are aimlessly floating across the screen until they are being clearly heard. This illustrates how students have felt lonely, disconnected and like strangers to themselves at moments whilst using this platform throughout their studies.

Can You Hear Me also contains immersive sound which has been experienced during its screening at the sound arts venue Iklectik in London.
